Porch deck railing ideas

I purchased this income property. I need ideas for replacing bad railing. The concrete slab it sits on is only about 8" off the ground but since it's an income property we think we'll need some type of barrier/railing. The house looks much better now than in this photo but with good weather coming we need to rethink and replace the railing. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks!

its difficult to see in small photo, but you simply need to replace with existing treated lumber. Be sure to follow local codes for height and spacing between balusters. They make several types of posts that can be bolted directly onto cement then covered with vinyl sleeves but these can get a bit expensive. In any case, follow codes and be sure railing posts are secure and tight. legal issues can arrive quickly should railing fail when someone is relying on it

Perhaps you can buy pre-made lengths of 'picket' fence, but use a longer length so that it goes straight to the ground outside the concrete slab.

It is hard to make a suggestion from such a small photo, but whatever you do, make sure it is "lean on" proof because people do tend to lean against these. Bolt it in and down good!

Since you are replacing the railing, why not put a wooden ramp on the end, parallel to the driveway? That way people in a wheelchair or chair scooter will be able to use the front door.

I would check city codes and see if there is something specific since it's a rental property.
