Any ideas for curtain tie backs?

Question

I'm in need of some ideas / hacks to make curtain tie backs. I prefer the kind that wrap around the curtain and sheer.
 I'm currently using a very stylish watch with the leather strap with the holes to adjust the size and close it. But, I'm tired of looking at the same old, same old.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I took an small antique oval picture frames and knitting needles to put on mine.  I seen it in a magazine somewhere and new it would work for me. I already collect frames and have knitting needles. You can paint them any Color or leave them original.  Good luck

I used bandannas once for my kitchen window and they looked really cute. I see them in many colours now so you could probably get some to match pretty well anything and they're relatively inexpensive. Hippy-trippy.

I went to the Dollar Store and got Clothespin type clips (mine have metal and look a little like flowers. Then I added inexpensive flower clips and butterfly clips that can attach to the flower part. Then I can get different types of clips for each season (Christmas, Spring, Easter, Summer, Fall & Winter). Mine do clip in the centre as I have three curtains, but it doesn't have to. You could also use tassled cords by folding in half and looping the ends through the fold and they could be done in different colours for different seasons. Again you could use clips like I did above. Hope this is helpful. Janet

I, too, was looking for something different. I went to my local A.C. Moore and bought six elastic beaded bracelets. The entire curtain fits in its opening and I only paid about $5 or less. I have them hooked onto the side of the window frame with push pins.

Look t wired florals too. These can just be bent around the curtain (similar to what you would find for a candle surround) I have these on the top corners 
to hold the sheer swags in one room.

I have used artificial greenery, poinsettas at Christmas wired around the drapes, also the plastic rope used at Christmas....comes in lots of colors, I happened to have green. Mari Jo mentioned thrift store necklaces...I have used chains...either necklace chains or the larger plastic chain used for hanging baskets. There are so many things you can use. Even matching cloth napkins folded....scarves, or material cut (and folded so no raw edges show) to match something else in your room.

I've used bracelets with stretch bands or open clasps,chain belts or deco belts,almost anything that you can wrap can be used.

Wrap bracelets are real popular now and you could wrap them around once or twice, depending how you like it. I have a bunch of them, leather with rhinestones, in every color. Got them on EBay.

I have used old strings of beads and pearls discreetly pinned by an old brooch...wide ribbons, even fancy bungee cords...

Oh  wow, Thank You So much for the kind words Sherry. The more I use it, the more I'm liking the looks of it myself.  My new quest has been to find inexpensive wrist cuffs for small wrists and maybe adding something or somethings to it to go with color of the Curtains. But, I'm glad that you found this idea a good one and I hope it works well for your grand daughters bedroom. Let me know how it works out for you.
