Small Budget Kitchen Renovation

Megan Aubrey
by Megan Aubrey
We took our dated, yellow 1960's kitchen to a more updated, modern look with a few simple, inexpensive changes! Check out the blog for the ugly before pictures!
Installed new track lighting to replace our florescent light.
Installed pendent lights over the peninsula.
Swagged a new light fixture over the eat-in kitchen area.
Painted this random cabinet white. It's now great storage!
Replaced the countertops with inexpensive solid surface.
Painted the pea green trash compactor black.
Installed a Fasade tin backsplash and battery LED undermount cabinet lighting.
Painted all the gross, bronze hardware a sparkling nickel. Painted all the trim white and the walls a soft tan.

I think you did a great job. I especially like the lighting. I use one side of my refrigerator for magners and reminders. The side that people can't see when they walk in the room.
