How to decorate a blank bedroom wall ?

We are remodeling our home and decided on a traditional style decor. For this, I am looking for some decorative items for the bedroom wall. Some of my close friends suggested me a tapestry would look good. After searching a lot, I found a traditional one here https://www.rajrang.com/home-decor/wall-decor/cotton-embroidered-patch-work-gray-elephant-tapestry.html
I like it's traditional design and the colors. Moreover, it's cheap also. What do you think will this tapestry look good? Do you have any more ideas ?

The tapestry will look good if the colors are repeated in the rest of the room. Why not but a painting from a local artist? Buying directly will be at least 50% cheaper than buying from a shop or gallery.

My philosophy is, if you love it, use it. I like the design and has a primitive ethnic vibe for me. I would paint the walls a neutral color. Use accents in room with the bedding, rugs and other pieces, pulled from the tapestry. If you love one of the colors, use that one for your bedding. Say you liked the blues...you could try to match the bedding as close to one of the colors (or keep it neutral as well), pick pillows in the other colors with some orange, yellow, green or red thrown in. I would go with at least one wood piece and add some baskets and large pottery to access the ethnic feel. Add some family photos with wood toned frames to stay neutral or again, pull colors from the tapestry for frames or mattes if you want more color. Good luck!

The tapestry is pretty, and if you like it use it. Playing off Darla's idea, check your local thrift stores for paintings. I have lithographs, original oils and watercolors I've picked up over the years. I love all of them equally but if my tastes ever change, only 1 cost more than $5. (It was $20, but it's my largest, appx 30" x 36" and has the greatest impact so it was worth every cent.) Have fun as you search!

@Nancy Gramm Glad to know that you liked it. I have checked many stores nearby , but didn't find the one which I was looking for.

I would hang it on a nice curtain rod which would show it off as well

Since it sounds like you have a whole wall to use why don't you put picture rail (running just above any window frames) and you can hang anything, at whatever height you want, and can change them out as you please.

I agree with Ibutterworth Hang it on a nice decorative rod will really make a difference. Also as others have said accessorise your room with objects in colours from the wall hanging. Enjoy your room

I'm pretty crafty and I've made latch hook rugs as wall hangings for family and friends. I also helped my mother hang various things, including a Navajo rug and a Hmung tapestry in her home. I agree with the others that using this tapestry would work well if you used it also to bring the colors into the room. There are various ways to hang something like this. On the Hmong one we made a sleeve to run a rod through it. The rug was stitched with heavy yarn in one of the colors and then the rod was run through the yarn work. If the piece isn't too thick or heavy, clip curtain rings can used. Best of luck.
