Does anyone recognize this plant/weed? It's kind of cool looking and appears to be a vine.

This looks like very young honeysuckle.
  • It is honeysuckle as Martha stated above

Never have seen honey suckle with serrated leaves like that! If only the first couple of sets on the end were shown, I would agree. If it is honeysuckle, I want some.

I've been working on it here in MO and OK for the past 36 years also. The new growth here does not have the "oak leaf" shape, but Mother Nature likes to pop out those varieties of varieties! My favorite way to clear out the old vines is to wrap and twist the long lengths into wreaths. I did see some interesting honey suckle varieties on the site suggested in this thread. There is even one considered a native.
  • Honeysuckle. It's invasive for sure!

I would try a google image search for plants/weeds with oaklike leaves. Also we get this plant in UK (Himalayan honetsuckle) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=himalayan+honeysuckle&biw=1920&bih=936&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwib1KWCwJDMAhXCVRoKHQvVDCYQ_AUIBygC Which could cause some confusion, I do not know what the young leaves are like, but it seems the type that could also become invasive, I quite like it.

Thanks all, it is indeed Japanese Honeysuckle, and will be removed today! I love Hometalk!

I have it in my yard and have spent hours on Google. I wish some of the expert sites had more pictures during its whole life, not just mature plants.

I have a rule of thumb. If it's growing and spreading like mad then it's a weed. Even if it looks kind of pretty.

The younger version reminds me of wild strawberries they go everywhere. I send them to weed heaven. Berries are about size of dime. I find them in my flower beds, lawn, etc.....very evasive
