Needing some ideas to attach securely the end of a timber cable spool that I've pulled apart. Wanting to create a table . The cable spool top is extremely heavy too. The cast iron base has slats of timber already attached that I can remove. See photos
I can't tell how the slats are attached to the base, and I think you need at least 2by4's, but if you can make then secure enough to hold the spool, I would drill holes in the 2by4's to match the ones in the spool and use long bolts and nuts to hold them together.
