Changing A Mirror With Some Chalk Paint!

This mirror needed a little makeover, I felt it was to dark in color. It was going into my office that I am in the process of doing. So what better way than to add some paint.
The mirror before it was painted!
My first approach was to go in lightly so I dry brushed it and used a smaller stencil brush where all the detail was. I just kept building up the color. Dry brushing is just dipping your paint brush in at the tips and blotting some off on a paper towel so you have a very thin layer of paint going on. I didn't want to much of the brown showing through.
This wasn't a big project it was a simple D I Y, but it really changed the mirror up to a fresh bright piece with a little paint. I added a few layer of the color and then I let it dry. I then went in with some wax and shortly after buffed off the wax. Then taking sandpaper just distressed it up some to give it a bit of a shabby look.
The mirror is the first piece up in my office makeover so I was pleased. I was able to bring it back up from the basement and reuse it with a fresh look! Its all up on my blog!
