Repurpose outdoor Christmas reindeer

We stripped the reindeer of all the lights and spray painted them dark brown just to cover the white paint. We want to enjoy them in our backyard but need ideas.

You can anchor them down in one of your gardens or in between trees.

It would be beautiful to anchor him down in your garden and then attach a small pot of flowers at the neck area.

@Jeanette S LOL. My thought was to put them in the flower garden (especially if one has its head tucked down) because around here the real deer eat tender, delicious flowers!

Duane, if the reindeer are hollow cut out a section of the top of the back line with a heavy duty plastic bag and fill with potting soil and plant with flowers like petunias and trailing foliage like vinca or potato vine. To anchor get lengths of rebar which home depot or lowes sell and push through the bottom of the hoof area up through the legs for stability. This is if they are not in a flying position and have all 4 feet on the ground If the Rebar is too long maybe your local garage can cut for you or if you don't have tools a friend might be able to help . Not sure if HD or Lowes will cut. Before you plant the flowers and the deer is upright put small pea stone or gravel or even Quickcrete in each leg to secure the rebar and to also make the deer more stable and bottom heavy. If the reindeer are in flying positions, attach chains and hang from tree limbs if you have a wooded area in back. Lol might make them look like they are jumping through the woods. Good Luck, and post a picture when you are done please.

If you don't use them, and you know a hunter, offer them for target practice. You could also glue your own target on one and take up archery, shooting with foam bullets, or darts.
