Why are my dishes smelling like fishes?

Why are my dishes smelling like fishes after the dishwasher "cleans" them? We've tried vinegar rinsing, checking the steam vent, and switching detergents. Notes: It's the glass and porcelain dishes that stink. The steam doesn't smell. The dishwasher is a Kenmore and is less than 7 years old (I think).

Dishwashers vary, but there might be some kind of filter or food trap in your model that you need to clean.

Are you sure it's not the water? If you were in FL, and on a well, that would surely be the culprit. In your case, it might just be food in your filter or stuck at bottom of the dishwasher. I never put food in dishwasher and rinse 99% off before putting in the machine.
