Elegant Office Desk Makeover! Loving New Chalk Paints

1 Material
Hey guys! I am super excited to share today's post with you all. This month I had the pleasure of joining The Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest for the very first time. I will admit, I didn't know what to expect or how well I would do, but I certainly love a good challenge. I was thrilled when I found out the sponsor for the month of April was Pure & Original Paints and the theme was Pure Colors, Original Elegance.
When I first found this table it was in sad sad shape. I knew I wanted to make it into my office desk, I just wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do to it. The table went through a few transformations before I got to the final result.
The first look I tried I called the "beach" look. The colors are there, but the style was still flat and oh so drab. It worked for a little while until I got inspired by something else.
This technique I called the "faux wood". In the picture, it is still wet, but cutting strips of brown paper and mod podging them to the table created a pretty great wood look. I accented the seams with paint so it stood out a bit more and I loved it, but I did NOT seal it. So over time, the paper peeled up and got lots of scratches. I had to rethink this idea. Which I may try again onanother piece because I really did like the look.
Fast forward to today! After finding Pure & Original Chalk paint, and deciding on the color scheme I want for my kitchen, I knew this gorgeous rose color needed to find it's way to my office desk. I am in love with this paint!! It is now going to find it's way to many many other pieces of furniture in my home.
There is NO primer needed, NO sealant needed with Pure & Original paint. It goes on super smooth and is so easy to work with. You will be amazed at the transformation of the drab table.
Pop over to the blog (listed below) to see the full project and the final results. When I say it looks completely different, I really mean it. Something as simple as paint can make a world of difference on any piece. Hope to see you there, and would love your feedback on the Pure & Original paint, furniture makeovers, paint colors... anything! Would love to hear from you.
