DIY Repurposed Metalwork Hurricane

2 Materials
Easy
I love Anthropologie's metalwork hurricanes...and realized just how easy it was to recreate it using repurposed materials!
Make sure you check out the full tutorial and blog post for all the details...including the CRAZY-easy hack I used to keep paint from getting on the interior glass!!
After seeing the Anthro catalogue, I realized how much their metalwork hurricanes looked like outdated 80's era brass chandeliers, like this one.
I loved the rose-gold color of the Anthro original, so I needed to paint mine to match!
AND I found the most crazy-easy way to keep spray paint from getting on the interior glass- you will laugh out loud when you see it...but you'll want to file away the idea for future projects, I promise!
All I needed to do was thread some dainty lights ( Here's an affiliate link for the PERFECT lights!) through the bottom hole and voila...AMAZING fireflies in a hurricane. Now I need to host an evening soiree just so I can use my project!
Don't forget to check out my full blog post tutorial for all the details...including my secret painting hack!

Went to your blog and saw that the lights you used are battery operated, with a rather sizeable battery case. Don't see that in your picture of the finished project. How did you hide it?
