Mexican Fiesta

Sue Purdy

I recently put together this fun and colourful Tablescape inspired by the wonderfully vibrant tones of traditional Mexican design.
I started with a neutral background, using my white satin tablecloth as a backdrop.
I then started layering in other elements, such as the colourful placemats, deep orange toned napkins, and used my clear glass plates so that the designs on the placemats would show through.
I also added inexpensive hanging lanterns above the table to ground it as the focal point in the room.
These peppers are my favourite part of the table, since their bright colours tie everything together.
I added faux cacti to each table setting that each guest could take home as a little party favor.
This table was loads of fun to put together as a tribute to cinqo de mayo. Check out my blog post to see more pics:

Very cute! Even without the lanterns and cacti, it would be a fun and colorful table setting!
