DIY Wood Tiled Dresser

I was inspired by the wood-tiled dresser from West Elm to create this gorgeous DIY wood tiled dresser. It's a project that appears much more difficult than it actually is, and the end result is pretty stunning. See more photos and the full, detailed tutorial by clicking over to the blog.
We started with this beautiful antique dresser we got at a flea market. It was already pretty gorgeous, but we had big plans for it.
We cut a ton of small wood tiles from a 2X4 piece of wood. These would be used for the drawer fronts.
We did a mixture of whitewash and graywash on the tiles, then glued them onto the drawer fronts using wood glue in a subway pattern.
Once the drawer was full, we cut off the excess and sanded it down a bit on the edges, then we clamped a large wood board on top of the drawers to flatten out the tiles and ensure they'd stick.
Then, we painted the dresser itself, made some DIY drawer pulls (see blog post for details on those), and put the drawers back in! You can see way more details about how we accomplished this, along with several more photos on the full blog post.
