I love it when people ask me if I can make them something that I’ve never made before. I hardly ever think I can’t make that. Instead, I think how can I make that? Case in point: my friend Beth asked if I could make her a cork board. I’ve never made a cork board before but of course I said yes!Beth has a successful career in the fashion industry and she needed somewhere to pin up samples and orders at her desk. She had been taping things to the wall behind her desk which resulted in the paint slowly chipping away (not quite the inspiring workplace view she was hoping for).
Are you still looking for some fun ways to add a little halloween decor to your front porch and yard this year? I've got a great DIY for you!Take a pvc pipe from the plumbing section of your local home improvement store and turn it into some fun characters for halloween!Start out by creating a pattern for your PVC. I have created patterns for many different types of birds and animals, plus 2 cute little PVC kids. I've also created patterns for Christmas and Easter, but for halloween, I made a skeleton, a ghost and a pumpkin. If you want to get my patterns or see what I all have available, you can check them out at www.CrazyDiyMom.com
There's something about a chunky craftsman window/door trim that makes my heart melt. I think it's the perfect way to add character to any space, but especially those faux farmhouse spaces like our builder grade ranch. The builder left us with a less than desirable trim, so updating the windows with a chunkier trim really gave this area some va-va-voom! This tutorial is fairly simple and only requires the most basic of tools. Check out the tutorial below and visit my post for the full step-by-step
I’m a fish guy. My wife thinks it’s weird and when I say it like that, I have to admit that it does sound a bit odd! For the last 15 years, I’ve wanted to have a koi pond in my yard, but haven’t been able to because we were renters for the first 10 years of our marriage - and most people frown on digging a big hole in their yard and filling it with water. 5 years ago we bought our first house with plenty of property, BUT there wasn’t a place to put a pond where it could be enjoyed. Luckily that all changed as we removed the decks that came with the house and opted for a smaller cement patio. Now was my time to draw up my plans for a koi pond. I marked out an area and convinced my wife that it would be a centerpiece (that isn’t anywhere near the center)…and she approved! After getting the concrete patio poured, I didn’t waste any time digging into the pond project - literally.
Sometimes a piece just needs some paint to help give it a new look and work with today's decor. This Broyhill Premier credenza was one of those pieces. A two tone look would accent the modern design while still showcasing the gorgeous walnut drawers which would be balanced out with a wood base.

I purchased this antique dresser from a friend who lives down the street from me. Isn’t she a beauty? The mirror was in excellent shape, no scratches or anything, which is very rare.
I love Halloween! Not the scary haunted houses or movies, because I'm a big chicken with a huge imagination- which is not a good combo. But the dressing up, fun parties, decorations and of course the candy!! And since we don't want to scare the children around here ;) I stick to more fun decorations at our house for Halloween. So this year I made these cute and easy mummy mason jar guys to decorate our foyer table with. They are adorable, and so easy to make it's scary!!
I have a small laundry room that is the only access to my back deck and yard. I’ve lived in my home now over three years now and just hated the mess of open shelving and various brooms and mops showing. It’s a small room with no options of adding more space, so I decided to use the 18” of space between the dryer and open shelving. I decided a rolling broom closet would be the perfect solution. And I decided while I was doing all this to go ahead and paint the cabinets over the washer and dryer. I had already purchased bins for the open shelving and it made a big difference. The updates just completed the look I was hoping for.
Before this house, I’d never lived anywhere that had a real mudroom. And although our mudroom is small, I just love it - especially since we've recently revamped it.The first issue we tackled was shoe storage (which, let's face it, you can never have enough of).We started with an ugly little shelving unit that came with our house. Apparently, the old owners didn't want to take it.And actually it fits perfectly between the back door and the mudroom's north wall.
We've heard a lot of people saying that white cabinets are out. If white is out, what's in next? What cabinet color do you think will be the next hot trend? Vote below by typing the letter or style you choose in the comments!
I had an idea for a custom wall sconce. Found Some metal wall sconces in the closet that originally had metal candle holders that hung from them. I wanted to use them on boards that were done to match headboard I made previously and hang lanterns that I purchased at gift department of local pharmacy.
So years ago I saw a coffee table that had a mosaic wood pattern that slowly transitioned from a darker wood to a lighter wood. It’ been stuck in my mind ever since, there's just something about that style that I find so cool and attractive. I also happened to need a set of new nightstands. I decided this was an oppurtunity to finally try and recreate that coffee table I saw years ago, but put my own twist on it!What a project this was. Let me tell you, this probably took me close to a month to finish. I was only working on it in my spare time on weekends and after work, since my day job has been really busy lately. Definitely one of my longest projects, but totally worth it! I’m really happy with how it all turned out!If you like this build and my photography check out my Instagram.
