My Golden Pin up Girl

From the second I saw this girl I loved her. She was at a friends’ house and I begged for her even though I knew it was obnoxious. I was in love.
When I first got her she had a brownish glaze, no picture sorry. I didn’t think that mouseish finish was worth of her beauty. I would refinish her, because that’s what I do. Did refinish her in my verdigris finish. I wanted her to look like a statue that had been outside for years, her patina starting to tarnish.
I was thrilled. I loved her even more. I was sure she would sell quickly. Of course she would she was gorgeous. Well she didn’t she sat in my shop for over a year. I still loved her but why did no one else.

Since I'm of a certain age, I don't need any more decorative items but if I'd seen her in her "verdigris" finish, I would have given her a good home. I prefer it over the gold finish, however, I'm seeing gold and brass making a comeback in decorating magazines so understand your new paint job. She looks very "art deco" now. :)

I'm sure she will sell one of these days. :) I wonder what she'd look like covered in a thin layer of air dried clay to then resemble a hand-sculpted gal! If the gold/brass look hasn't taken off in Florida yet, you could always spray her a silver/nickel color & see if that brings in a buyer. Good luck!
