I have this old sewing machine, and I was wondering if anyone possibly knows who the maker is. I use it as my laptop holder. It closes the laptop when the mechanism where the sewing machine use to be, when i put the lid back on and opens when I open the lid (using Velcro strips). I have viewed tons of images but cant find this one.
The table
The legs
The art on tabletop
The drawers

I saw one just like this in an antique store in North Georgia, (Dahloniga). I remember it because it was not a singer.

back in the 1800's there were many more manufacturers - most consolidated or got bought up by other companies late 1800's early 1900's. Singer bought up some of the smaller companies. There was Standard, New Home, Wanzer, Pfaff, Raymond, Frister&Rossmann, White - just to name a few

it seems to have the flavor of a New Home... the logo should have been in the center of the front. Maybe there is a shadow or remnant of the maker there

Although your sewing machine doesn't have any markings, mine has "Free" on the peddle. I don't think your's is the same but you might be able to take your photos an antique or vintage store. Good luck -- pretty cabinet.

Is the machine still in it? What does it say on the machine? It looks like a Whites machine made in USA. I did a makeover on one that looks similar.

No the machine is not. I do like your makeover .Its very pretty.

I agree with Lisa Szanto ^^^, it does have a "New Home" vibe to it, especially with the beautiful decoration on the top and the shape of the front. Usually there are markings on the leg braces, or stamped on the treadle itself, if nothing can be found anywhere on the wood. Whatever it is, it is a beautiful piece and I'm envious!

http://www.refinishwizard.com/refinishing_antiques.html This article I found very informative in regards as to whether or not to refinish vintage/antique furniture or not. I don't know the guy so it's not a plug. Anyway very nice looking machine! Glad you use it!

Looks like burl oak and the names were usually in the cast iron pedal or side rather than in the cabinet. Maybe not the original pedal ??? Good luck - a real keeper - beautiful. My guess would be a White also.

I know this is very old and you may no longer follow up on it. If so I was wondering if you figured it out. Did you refinish it? It’s a stunning piece with all the cool wood grain patterns.
