If you have more than 6 to 8 grubs per square foot, Darlene, you will probably have to use a chemical control. Make sure you apply according to label directions.

Doug has good advice.....nature will take care of grubs if there are only a few present. How many are you finding?

Next to beneficial insects, songbirds consume the most pest insects in your yard. Grackles, meadowlarks, crows, catbirds, cardinals, blackbirds, robins, and starlings eat lots of grubs. starlings, robins, catbirds, and cardinals also eat adult beetles.

For grubs in the lawn, the best way to find them is to slide a flat shovel about an inch deep under the grass and lift it up, flipping it over. Gently brush the soil with your fingertips to locate and count the grubs.

Give them some beer Fill a pie plate with no more than 1" of warm beer. They will go in the plate overnight and drown. They like the beer. Grubs like moist areas ,places were there are leaves, rocks.Make sure your pie plate is metal and not too deep You may find other insects like beer too. They likeoist areas and like to hide under leaves, rocks and damp areas overnight they will come to sit in your plate They drown and die

a natural way is to mix any soap and water together and spray, otherwise diazinon in the bag spread on and watered in will get them immediately
