Can Anyone Identify This Flowering Bush?

I've been trying to identify this bush for a friend of mine and am having no luck. Anybody have any ideas as to what it is?

    Where is it growing? Is it in flower now?

    If memory serves me right, it was Madeira Island. It was growing in an arboretum she was visiting. It was blooming in the early spring...hope this helps.

    I looked up Taramix and although the flower looks similar, the foliage is very different.

    Maybe a type of lilac? Does it have a scent?

    Looks like a lavender version of a honeysuckle bush. it's gorgeous.

    Tammie, I thought of a type of lilac, too, because the leaves are similar. Don't know if it has a scent, she didn't mention it. I was wondering if the flowers open more than what is in the picture...they kind of look tubular.

    I think it is a Japanese lilac bush should bloom a few times in the summer
