Since I have been undecided concerning the direction I wished to take in decorating my Master bedroom here on the ranch, the walls were still bare until just recently! I visualized something totally different from most ranch-houses but still something that reflected my idea of a charming vintage bedroom. I found just the project! This gorgeous hoop wall collage that can be made cheaper than you would believe.
I started by visiting antique stores and buying various sizes of vintage crochet doilies which I found for $1 to $4 a doily!
But I was even luckier with the wooden hoops since my sweet mother in law shared her basket of different sized hoops she had collected over the years with me. But you could certainly check garage sales or recycle stores for hoops. But they can also be brought on-line or in hobby stores.
I found some leftover burlap and inserted the hoops over the burlap. Glued the raw edges of the burlap to the wooden hoop and then attached the doilies to each frame
We laid out our pattern to determine how many other hoops were needed and attached them together. For the full directions on this project and to see how we attached the hoops together please visit my link on the bottom.
It looks gorgeous hanging over my bed. This measures about 46 inches wide by 38 inches tall and is perfect over a king size bed. But you could make it any shape or size!
