An old mirror gets a new life as a beautiful farmhouse chalkboard with a flower box for notes, memos or even flowers.
My first thought was to use the mirror but as this project progressed I decided that changing out the mirror was an even better idea.
I built a wooden framed box and attached it to a wooden base I had in my stash from an old curio cabinet.
I attached the mirror to the back of the box and painted the whole piece white... then I had a change of heart.

The mirror with the box was very heavy so I switched gears mid project and pulled the mirror out of the frame and inserted a piece of pre-made chalkboard to it.
The mid project switch was a great idea because the project took on a whole new look! I added some knobs to the front of the chalkboard that work as hooks to hold leashes or keys.
