My Clematis bloomed and now the vine looks as if some of it is dying.

Should I cut the vine down? It bloomed beautifully, but looks awful now.

Sounds like Clematis wilt. It often only affects one side of the plant. Here is a link with more info but don't worry, your plant will be fine. http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=125
