Painting Our Front Door: Tips & Tricks!

When we bought our current house, one of the (many) things on our to-do list was to paint the front door. That plain white door wasn’t doing anything special for our curb appeal. I liked the door in other ways: I liked the little windows at the top and I liked the raised panels. But I was not a fan of the plain white color. I knew that was an easy fix.
So a few weekends ago (yes, this post is a bit late! too many other projects!), we tackled a makeover of the front door. There’s something about Spring that really makes me want to focus on revamping curb appeal. Here is the original color of the door- white! Zzzzz
Here is an in-progress shot of the door!

Was the door wood or metal fire door and do you have shutters throughout the entire house and did you paint them as well. My house is the same I call it the vanilla house so people find me. But we have shutters on all our front windows that are dark brown almost black and we have a garage door that faces street as well can you give me some idea! The house is your basic flat front house but I can tell you now I don't want a cottage garage door wouldn't look right. Thanks
