Many people are switching out their cleaning products for eco-friendly versions. Combinations of water, lemon, baking soda, and vinegar are the ultimate solutions for almost every eco-friendly cleaning project. Here are some of our favorite solutions for homemade eco-friendly cleaning.
As with any new cleaning method, you'll want to be sure to spot test the cleaning methods first in an inconspicuous area.
Water stains on faucets: A lemon

Cut a lemon into quarters, rub the flesh on to the tap and leave the sticky citrus coating for an hour. Rinse it off and the tap is gleaming and smells divine. This technique is so simple and will leave you immediately wondering how much you've wasted on lemon-scented cleaning products over the years.
Bathtub, shower floor, and walls: Grapefruit and salt

After you see the success of the lemon, you will get excited for the citrus fruit’s larger relative. The salt will act as a scouring agent on a dirty bath to clean or brighten the surface, so be generous in your usage, and rub it in vigorously with the grapefruit. After an hour, rinse it off using a rougher sponge, pad, or even a horse hair brush and water. If there is still tiny bit of residue, use a bit of your preferred eco-environmentally friendly dish soap to get rid of the pulp.
Grout, mildew and soap cum in shower tracks: Baking soda, white vinegar, lemon essential oil, and your preferred environmentally friendly dish soap

Mix together 1/2 cup of baking soda together with 2 tbsp of water, 2 tbsp of dish soap, a few drops of the lemon essential oil, and finally 2 tbsp of white vinegar. Whip mixture to create a thick paste. Then using a sponge, apply the paste to the dirty grout and let sit for about an hour. After that, work the cleaner deeper into the grout with the brush. Allow to sit for another 5-10 minutes, then rinse the cleaner off of the grout. Once the grout has completely dried, you’re sure to be stunned by the effectiveness of this cleaning technique!
