What's the easiest way to mount something that weighs about 10lb to the wall? What am I missing?

It's a handheld vacuum cleaner. Drywall. I'm rather novice and I wasn't able to do it with just a drill and nails.

If you're not attaching to studs, you need anchors. The little plastic things that will hold the screw firmly. For ten pounds, that should do it.

Use the anchor bolts that you posted, they will not come out.
