DIY Wall Art With Shells - Bathroom Decorating Ideas

My bathroom is pretty plain with white tiles and white walls which makes it a nice neutral canvas to work with, except for this "vintage" heater that stands out like a sore thumb. With the beautiful year round weather in LA, I never use it and I wanted to find a quick easy way to hide it. Looking around my apartment for something to use, I came across a scrap piece of 1/4" plywood from another project and beautiful shells I had from previous crafting project. Putting them together, I had a basically "free" solution to cover up my ugly heater:
I placed my shells on the plywood and marked where my hooks will go to hold up the shells. I drilled holes at the marks using a 1/8" drill bit.
I made wire loops and fished them through the holes, adjusted them to fit around the shells and glued them in place in the back.
And voila, quick and easy way to bring a beach vibe into my bathroom and I don't have to look at my ugly heater anymore!
You can see a full tour of my bathroom makeover and all the projects I did in this video.

id just hot glue those shells since they are so light. you could back up the hot glue with gorilla glue or elmers too. But great idea. Ive done similar over circuit breaker box.

This is a really clever and great looking project. We understand that the switch is hidden behind the plywood, but if you're going to cover up a heater, you really need to disconnect it from power first. Some models will automatically turn on if the temperature drops below a certain point, even if the heater appears to be "off." At the very least you need to cap off the supply wires with wire connectors (just be sure to turn the breaker powering the heater off before you do that).
