Repurposed Headboard

The hubby said to get rid of the bulky headboard, so one look at our porch, I knew just what to do!
Bulky headboard (before)
First thing I did was sand the finish down on the headboard.

Then grab a can of outdoor paint/sealer in one & some foam brushes.
Painting the headboard
Next I painted. This headboard is a queen size, and I would probably advise 2 coats for a good coverage.

And since I'm an artist and a weirdo, I always paint words under all my painting adventures
Almost covered!
So I decided to paint all but the bottom portion as I figured it wouldn't be seen much anyway.

I left that portion un-sanded anyway.
The space!
So this part was hard!

This part was digging some holes!

I measured the frame to get an idea of where to dig the holes & since there was already rock, I would use that to reinforce it!
Headboard turned porch railing!

What a great start to our front yard renovation!

And from refurbed materials too!

It's held up under weather and has settled firmly to where there is no wiggle!

Glad the hubby wanted it gone!

What's holding it up? I have a front cement porch I would love to use this.

That was a great idea you had. And it looked very smart also. I am so sorry for your loss.
