    No, Charlynn, it is too hot here for amelanchiers. The only place in the state they will grow is the far western panhandle.

    Thank you Douglas. Will look for something else. One plant I like is the Beauty Berry it is a native to Fl.

    Yes, beautyberry does very well here. I just planted one this spring. If you are looking for a small-sized native tree with a white bloom, you might consider a fringetree, Chionanthus virginicus. There is a dwarf form native to central Florida, Chionanthus pygmaeus, that is endangered.

    Thank you Douglas. I will try and find this plant.The only large nursery I am aware of in this area is Lukas Nursery in Oviedo.

    If you are interested in native plants, Charlynn, you might want to check out Biosphere Nursery in Winter Garden or The Natives in Davenport, which would probably be more of a drive for you. The latter has more limited hours and you need to call before you go, but they do carry the pygmy fringe tree.
