My favorite sling chair was in a major need of repair. After several years of use (and kids) it just gave out. I know that there are a lot of sling chairs out there, and a lot of people that would like to repair or change the fabric on theirs. So, I just thought that I would share this tutorial. It is a bit long, but that's just because it is detailed. However, I promise that this is really easy to do. This is just the summary. To see the entire how to, head on over to my site. (link provided below) :-)
My before - had a SunSetter fabric in Chestnut
Bottom view of the chaise. They all have some sort of a stretcher bar to hold the nylon fabric taught. Some can be difficult to deal with, but I worked out ways around that.
Half way disassembled. Now on to the head rest (which incidentally is the same method that should be used for the chair versions).
You will need to be able to sew a straight line, but that is pretty much the extent of the skills required for this project. (I am assuming that everyone knows how to work basic tools - screw driver, hammer, square, etc).
Yay! New and ready to go. Now I just need to make the chairs match. ;-)

Was the fabric sewn around the stretchers? looks good after, but the directions were not detailed enough.
