Looks like it might be in the mallow family.

    Maybe a clematis?

Not quite sure what this is ,however I think I would wait to pull it out until you see if that is an actual flower about to bloom. It may be a wildflower native to your location.

It could be a Columbine. I don't know that it is a clematis. Those usually don't grow in a formation like that, they're usually nearer to a trellis or fence which they would then grow up and use as support.

Not a Columbine. I live in Colorado and have a large flower garden of them. I now believe it is a weed. People can contact their state weed office on line for a list with photographs of noxious weeds.

The leaves are those similar to mallow, however i do not think that is it. It is definitely not columbine as there leaves are small and kind of curly. It is not clematis as there leaves are way different in shape . It will be interesting to see if this actually produces a flower or berry.

I do have columbine and clematis but I do think I might be the HOPS when I googles all the images. It doesn't appear to be a vine but the leaves sure look alike and 'll have to see what the seed bracks turn into. Meanwhile they are getting pulled and I am finding more seen around my garden areas, who knows how it got there? Many thanks for everyone's ideas and help in identifying this. I would have never looked in that area for the leaves are! Appreciate all your help! Smiles, Cyndi
