Closet without doors...

I have a wall in an old house that has a closet without any doors...It is a double closet on sides and has drawers in the lower middle part and a 1/2 closet on top of the drawers. I am looking for ideas using some sort of fabric, possibly colored sheets?

You can use a tension rod and insert into a the flat top of the sheet.

I would use shower curtain rings. That way it would be easier to slide. If you sew, you could make button holes in the sheet. If you don't sew, just poke some hole in the sheet and use Fray Check which is available at in Joann's Fabrics etc.

t you! I could even use small staples to hang a valance over the top part of closet. Am sure a queen sheet would do it all..

My daughter had an apartment bedroom closet like this. A regular tension rod wasn't wide enough so she used a curtain rod with a center support. She then used two shower curtains and curtain rings so she could easily push the curtains aside to gain access. Shower curtains worked better because they aren't as long as regular curtains. Bonus she found everything on clearance!

Sounds like my 1900 house. Didn't they have doors back then?!. What I did was use a pretty, opaque curtain. I used extension rods on one closet and had to add a small block of wood, 6"x6" one on both sides, to drill a curtain rod into. I also used an opaque curtain and stained the block of wood to match the closet. Hope this helps.

3/4" to 1" wood closet dowel rod from the home improvement store. Buy one a little longer than your door width and cut off the excess. They also sell either wood or metal brackets for hanging. Purchase pretty semi-sheer curtains in the length you need and hang with clip on curtain rings. No sewing needed and easy to take down for occasional laundering.

you can purchase stretchable cording for hanging curtains. It comes in 1 large piece and you just stretch it out and cut. It comes with pieces to screw into each end and hooks to attach the pieces to.

In my bedroom I had some of those horrible sliding doors that are always sticking and falling off their tracks. So, this is what I did to solve the problem! First I had Mt husband remove the horrible doors and toss them out in the shed so we can put them back if we move since we are renters after all. Then I had that same great husband find me one of our old curtain rods that we had used in the past for our double or triple windows before the new ones with the finials became so popular. After he brought me about 4 rods, I finally found a set that would work and we put it up. Then I went to Walmart and purchased a set of King Size Hot Pink Sheets. The wide hem at the top is perfect for running a curtain rods through. Now this is where if you want to put the extra effort in you can. But I personally just wanted it to be done. So if you are like me and want it to be done you can take some fabric and make a valance to cover the top of the sheet and hide the fact that it's a sheet. Or you can get out your sewing machine and sew in an actual curtain rod pocket into the top hem of the sheet so that you can have the little ruffles on the top of your curtains. Then you just cut the bottoms of the sheets off with picking sheers to stop any freeing and you're all done! Good luck! And remember to HAVE FUN!!

Use a tension rod, with what ever fabric, material shower curtain or curtain you like.
