Found this beauty at a local antique store, but it really doesn't fit with the 'look' and feel of my living room.
Beautiful small china hutch
I thought I would try to match up with my newly refinished coffee table using the left over chalk paint I had on hand.

Chalk paint on hand
So, as before, I used acetone to wipe down the cabinet. I then painted the inside the lovely green (including the shelves) and trimmed the outside in white. I let this dry overnight.

The next morning I did a very light, light top coat of green on the white, just barely swishing a few spots with a dry paint brush.

After drying, I then hit the piece again with my copper spray paint and then gave it a good sanding with 600+ grit sandpaper.
Inside green, outside is white
As before, the copper was hard to use - I will have to break down and buy a holder per another great suggestion someone made on my table post.

I finished up with a coat of clear matte chalk paint. I replaced the same hardware - it was just too perfect for the piece!

Let me know what you think!
Suggested materials:
  • Chalk paint - green, cream, and clear
