I've been planning to use Rescue It for my deck but yesterday heard

a commercial for Behr's Deck Over. They're essentially the same price. Do any of you have experience with these and do you have a preference? I think I read they both have about the same drying time, too, but if either dries faster, that would be my preference if all other things are equal.

I must have seen the same commercial yesterday, Louise, because before that, I had never heard of Behr's Deck Over. I wasn't familiar with the Olympic Rescue It either so I'll have to investigate that further. However, I have been reading pretty good things about the Rustoleum Restore deck and concrete product and am considering it for the concrete floor on my covered front porch. I've had several not so great experiences with Behr's paint so for that reason alone, I would most likely not consider the Deck Over, even if they were giving it away for free.

I didn't know about Rustoleum's Restore so will look into that one, too. Thanks for the tip.
  • Personally I would stick with the Rustoleum's brand. Behr paint is ok, but not quite as good as they make people think. I met one of the reps for restore paints and after speaking with them for a short while. I was convinced that this is the product to use. Rustoleum has been around for a very long time. Behr paint not quite as long. And Behr's deck paint that mimics the Restore product is just new this year. I would not want to end up being the experiment if the product failed. If your not in a rush to do this, hang tight. I have a large deck that is need of a lot of repairs and I will be using this Restore product on it. I will let you know just how hard it is to use and how the results come back once done.

I like the Rustoleum site where they have a good video showing just how to use the product. That certainly simplifies things. I'm bad about procrastinating, so I'm sure I can wait to hear about your experience.
  • Be about a week, weather permitting. But your right they have a great instructional video, Also check out U tube they also have several on the same subject.

Just remember that you cannot use the rustoleum product vertically, only horizontally.
