Abandoned Hutch Top Turned Curio

She was so ornate and left behind....and I could see her regal potential!

I brought her to my warehouse and went to work on my vision!

Picked out some new legs and a mounting bracket.....

Had the hubby install the legs while I scrubbed her down with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water.

All clean and sporting her new shoes. Ready for a new look. I chose Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paints "Derby" and decided to keep some of the beautiful original wood.

2 coats of Derby, and now I am ready for some slight distressing to tie in the exposed wood on the doors, then one coat of Ebony Protective Glaze, and she is ready for the floor!

One GREAT vintage upcycle...and she is a STUNNER♡

What color was the finished piece? Looks green in one pic and blue in last one. Thanks

Wow, it sure doesn't look black in the pictures. But. It's beautiful. And the neat part is it can be used as a separate piece or put on a buffet/sideboard.

You didn't sand it, or use primer. What paint was it? Have you mentioned, or did I miss it? Its BEAUTIFUL!

Some people think wood looks old and dreary and some never get tired of it. I do not care for white and painted furniture not even when it comes from the store new. To each their own I say. I have a love of "Anything" Victorian which as you are probably aware usually involves walnut and mahogany furniture. Apparantly other people love it to because I was just looking on line at some Victorian antiques and the prices were unbelievable.
