The Cutest Little Garden Themed Crate With a Top Secret Mission...

My front entry lacked an entry table.
Truth be told, it's because my bike has to park INSIDE my house, due to no room in the garage. (hoard much?)
Desiring an entry table of SOME kind, so I could have a place for mail and such, a little old ugly crate became my target. Hmm... would this actually work?
But I didn't stop there... this little crate got summerized in a BIG way... thanks to a couple of garden themed stencils and a little paint...
Here's what I did!
Oh hello there Welcome to my Garden themed crate... you sit there so summery and pretty and tidy like!
But I know you are hiding a secret, working very hard at doing something special...
This beat up old crate was sitting in my stash, looking sad, needing some love.
This was the perfect opportunity to use two garden themed stencils from Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils Collection!
My go to paint was Fusion Mineral Paint, which requires no topcoat nor primer... yes please!
First, the crate got coated inside and out.
Inside - Fusion's Bedford, which is a taupe with a sage green undertone which was perfect for this project!
Outside - Fusion's Casement, which is a crisp white with a slight warmth to it. NO blue undertones which I love!
Stencil time!
The outside of the crate got the Welcome to my Garden stencil.
Stencilling is actually very easy, but requires a few tricks to get exceptional results. The main key is to remove enough paint from your brush in order to achieve crisp lines.
More stencil tips are in the blog post link below.
Make it unique - mix your own colours!
Because I can never leave well enough alone, I mixed some of my colours. This is the fun part that separates your project from anyone else's!
Fusion's Coal Black and Inglenook (minty green) created the prettiest sage green for the leaves.
MANY more colour mixing ideas are in the original blog post link below.
The inside of the crate got the Potting Shed stencil.
This is where I started getting giddy. Would this crazy idea actually work?
It did!!
And... get it? Potting Shed is where you do all the work! So the work is inside this little crate turned instant entry table.
But the best part of all? Closing up the workload to enjoy the end of your day.
What bills? :)
Welcome to my Garden indeed...

The blog post link below also showcases 6 other ways bloggers have created with these same stencils!
Junk gardeners, this one is truly for you. :)
Wonder what else I can summerize up with these new stencils? Look out bare spaces... I'm watching you...
