The full transformation of this beautiful end table by Angie from The Painted Piano is stunning! Keep reading to find out more about how she gave it a completely new look with Rustic Charm and antiquing wax.
I think it’s fun to give a classic piece an unexpected color. And that’s how this Drexel end table turned Rustic Green!
First, I roughed up the surface with 150 grit sandpaper, just enough to scuff it so the paint would adhere just a bit better. And then I painted it green! And oh, what a rich, vibrant color!
After the paint dried, I distressed the edges just a little bit. Finally, I sealed the piece while also giving it an aged, rustic look, using Antiquing Wax. Can I just say how much I L-O-V-E the Antiquing Wax? Not only did it give the end table a smooth, soft finish, I love how it added depth to the Rustic Green, convincing you that this table must have a story to tell!
The Antiquing Wax was easy to use: literally wax on and wax off! I used a wax brush to make sure to get it in every corner and crevice, and used a lint free cloth immediately after to wipe it off and buff it. Perfect finish!
