Painted Sideboard

I bought this sideboard with the ugliest rolled on paint finish in semi-gloss. I did not want to strip it so I turned to oil paint to try to fix it. I sanded it out, gave it 3 coats of oil to "fill in" the texture, fine-sanded it again and gave it one more coat of oil in satin. The I distressed it and polished the hardware. I found this was a good alternative to stripping but was just as much work. The

That is stunning. I'm heading over to your blog in hopes of getting a peek at the 'before'

I love painting with oil paint too. The finish can't be beat if you like it smooth as glass :) Your work on this piece is beautiful!

@Porta Verde Studio Me too. I finally buckled and bought some chalk paint for my dining room set, but I still washed, sanded and prepped before painting :)
