How can I display vintage dish towels?

I have a few of my great grandmothers dish towels that she embroidered. I'm just not sure how to display them. I would like to have them in the kitchen.

I have seen on here some people have them sewn into kitchen curtains. Or you could frame them and make a display.

I would put them in frames and use them as wall art.

I had the same thing and made a table runner, bordering them in a coordinating fabric...gave them to a niece, so can't take a picture. I think I did cut them more into a square shape since the embroidery was only on one end.

Frame them but make sure they are mounted with acid free materials and glass that will protect them.

You can select some of your favorites and make an apron that ties at the waist. I did this with a few of my favorite dish towel and I hang it from an attractive towel rod when not in use. I've also seen others make curtains from them in windows that don't get bright sunlight (to avoid fading and damage to the fabric.

Look for an old wood ladder or ladder back chair (with the back cut free), then hang the towels from the rungs.

That is amazing Nancy! You wouldn't recognize it much now. My husband moved here in 2nd grade in the mid 60's--the town had a population of 10k....it's now close to 90k! Head up north this summer and visit our great state when it's too hot and humid in Texas 😀

If you decide to go with the curtain option, be sure it's in a window that doesn't get direct sunlight. They will fade in no time and rot eventually (they are probably cotton or linen).
