Now that summer weather is finally here, it's time to play outside! Learn how easy it is to make over-sized lawn dice from a 4 x 4 and play one your favorite dice games on the lawn.
All that you need to get started is an 8' 4 x 4 piece of wood. Since a 4 x 4 is actual 3-1/2" by 3-1/2" you will want to make 3-1/2" cuts.
I used a router to round the sharp edges of the blocks, but you could also you a sander or sandpaper.
Make the dots with a wood burner. Or make a stencil and paint the dots.
The lawn dice can be kept in their natural state with a clear coat over them. Or you can paint them with bright, fun colors.
How about a set in your favorite team's colors!
Suggested materials:
  • 8' 4 x 4   (Home Depot)
  • Paint
  • Wood burner   (Amazon)

Is this lumber treated? I have looked for untreated wood this size and have never been able to find it. Thanks.

you can make your own rules on that. Just do not let a 3 year old try to throw them all at once. He got hit on the head by two of them. It was not funny at the time, but I wish I had a video.
