Master Closet Makeover
by

We have a nice-sized closet in our master bedroom, but the organization system that was in there when we moved into this house was terrible! It was poorly built, didn't make a lot of sense, and made the room feel way smaller than it was. We recently ripped it all out and started from scratch and we're so much happier with it now!
This is what we started with - not terrible, but a lot of the space wasn't being used well, and some of the organization system took up unnecessary space, which made the whole thing feel cramped. We also had way more hanging space than we needed and not enough room for other things.
On one side, we installed a new shelving system
On the other side (my side!) we installed a simple rod for hanging clothes, some floating shelves for shoes, and turned the extra wall space into a place for hats and scarves.
For the hat racks, we used knobs from Ikea that are technically meant for cabinets - we spray painted them gold and screwed them into the wall, and they're perfect for hanging hats! I used Post-it flags to plan where I wanted to put them.
It's way more organized, and it's much prettier to look at now, too! You can see the full post with more photos + details on my blog!

Eroque022810 on Jun 11, 2016Wow,my husband how's about 30 hangers, I am the one that needs to purge. We just moved and I purged then, but I still have three containers to go through! I live in northern Illinois and we just have 3 season's spring doesn't really happen. I'm always cold due to my medicine so I need winter one's as well as summer one's. I really need to get on this the containers have summer clothes and it will be 93 today, hahaha. I'm so screwed! But Amanda gives me hope that I can do it! Wish me luck.
