What is this, a weed or wild rubarb?

I hope someone can help with this problem. This year I have something growing ALL OVER my yard that resembles rubarb in the shape of the leaves and the stalks but when you let it grow, instead of the stalks widdening, a piece in the middle grows very tall .. many years ago I had rubarb in the yard but it has been gone for at least 5-6 years...I don't know if this is really rubarb but it looks like it and it is spreading all over....not even connecting as some is in the front of the house and some in the back, some across the driveway..etc.

Sounds like Burdock to me too. It eventually has these sticky purple flowers that are pretty for about a day. They take over and the roots are deep!
