What can I use as a home remedy for polishing my leather couch?

I need to condition my leather couch.  What can I use?

This is not a home remedy, but I bought a bottle each of leather cleaner and leather conditioner from a Lexus service department near me. I was amazed at how well these products worked on our leather sofa.

I don't have a home remedy but I use endust furniture cleaner to clean my 15 year old leather couches  once a week I spray a good amount and wipe off with an old t-shirt. They still look pretty new. Hope it helps you. Do it at night so oils set in before someone sits on it. You might want to try it on the back to see if works on your couches before you spray them all.

I use olive oil. Rub it in well and polish up with a soft cloth. If it needs cleaning frat I use diluted vinegar and, again, a soft cloth.

I used Pledge Lemon Spray - cleans and conditions.

Endust and Pledge will work. I would not use olive oil or and vegetable oil as they become rancid over time.

I have a large leather couch that is approximately fifteen years old now. I have been using Johnson's Paste Wax  2-3 times a year all this time and it looks great, even after many dogs, cats and kids.  I just rub it on with a clean cloth and buff it good with another one. A can will last a VERY long time.

Hi Holly, hope this helps you out. Mix two cups of warm water, a tablespoon of natural baby soap and a splash of vinegar in a bowl. Use a microfiber cloth to rub the conditioning mixture into the leather, making sure not to soak the area. Simply moisten the leather and leave the conditioner on the furniture.

You don't need fancy leather moisturizer to take care of your favourite leather jacket. Petroleum jelly does the job just as well. Apply, rub it in, wipe off the excess, and you're ready to go.

I buy concentrated Murpheys Oil Soap. Then come home and make a spray bottle it only uses a few teaspoons.

I have heard of people using Vaseline to do this. Apply a light layer and gently rub it in, buff with a clean dry rag.
