I'm turning my satalite dish into a water catcher for my green house my husband got me epoxie to seal the dish. My question is how do I prepare the dish so that the epoxie does not drop out and make a mess all over the ground?

I would but this is what he got me and he said it would work just that I can't see how it will stay in place I do believe if may he took it down and placed it in the ground in a hole maybe it would work but I do like your idea better just have to convince him of that
The Rust-Oleum will work, but you should get the V7400 primer to go on first. This stuff is extremely tough, but will eventually breakdown. I think the guarantee for Rust-Oleum is two years.
What is the Devran for? In my experience epoxy coatings like this need to be sprayed on. I also believe it's recommended. Both of these cans are expensive, so rethink your plans before opening the cans, so you have a chance to return them. I think you should take Michelle's advice. Good luck!
That big can is rust prevention for metals. You can paint it on metal, but it's not the same as paint. You should also look into the V7400 fast primer if you decide to use it. I hope your projects turns out well. Good Luck!
Hi, I think you could use the fine surface tissue used in laying up fiberglass rather than mat. If you brush epoxy on the mesh, spread the tissue and then brush epoxy over the tissue making sure it's well saturated. Repeat on the other side. I'll bet it will be waterproof and surprisingly strong. If the epoxy is so thin it would run through the mesh, add some micro balloons (very cheap tiny polystyrene balls) to thicken it. Good Luck

You could use fiberglass mat, similar to what auto body shops use to repair car bodies with the epoxy.
