Painted Kitchen Backsplash - ONE Year Later

$30
Easy

Does you kitchen backsplash look outdated? An easy way to update it is with paint. YES I said paint. Another bonus is that this option is cheap!!! We redid our backsplash over 1 year ago and it is holding up amazing!

This project cost us less than $30.

Here is our kitchen before painting the backsplash.

And today! It's amazing what paint can do to a space! We also added trim and painted our cabinets here.

The big question is, would we do it again? The answer is YES! You can find the detailed tutorial on painting your own backsplash here. Or you can click the link below to see how the project is holding up.

This is very nice and a lot of work ;-) Actually I had painted my former home's backsplash too and there' s no reason a properly primed and painted backsplash won't hold up. After all, what's different about it than the regular wall...other than it may get more stuff "splashed" on it...LOL! Good paint will be washable :-) I didn't do a subway tile look, though I love yours! I used some drywall compound to apply some old-world texture to it, then primed and painted. It worked really nice for our look in that kitchen. (Our current home has a painted backsplash too and it wears extremely well.)
