Do you love to garden but have a hard time sticking with it? I did too until I designed a new way to garden. Check out the top 13 benefits of gardening my way.
1. No Weeding ever! Never pull another weed. Your plants will flourish because they don't have to share water and nutrients with weeds.
2. No bending over. Convenient waist high gardening. No back pain or knee pain.
3. Economical. Finished boxes cost approx $55 to build. also - BPA free tubs
4. Great for small yards, apartment balconies, town homes, and condos.
5. Put it anywhere the sun shines!
6. Critters can't get to your garden to bother it. No rabbits, gophers, skunks, possums or critters.
7. Reduced insects. Not as many bugs find the garden when it is off the ground. I had many ants before in traditional beds, but not in these beds.
8. Take it with you when you move, grow food anywhere!
9. No Roto-tilling the ground. Simply chop up roots when the plant is finished, turn over soil and plant again. I have used the same nutrient rich soil for over 2 years. No weeding!
10. Great for the elderly! This is the perfect gift for your parents!
11. Easy access from all angles
12. Great for wheelchairs and walkers!
13. Save money on your food bill and eat healthy!
fun for kids too! My kids love seeing something grow. so fun!
yummy home-grown veggies
in this economy... it just makes sense to grow your own food
nothing tastes better than growing it yourself
basket from harvest... grow your own food and love gardening again!

Your veggies look wonderful. I'm planning on making some kind of raised beds or getting huge pots for my tomato plants next year. I have such a small area for them that they kind of grow together then it's hard to get to the tomatoes to pick. Your little watermelon is so pretty, you don't have a problem with the watermelon vine trying to grow out of the planter?
  • Yes the watermelon vines grow out of the boxes and I have some melons on the ground and I picked a few up and put them back in the boxes. Here's a recent post with some pictures. http://www.raisedurbangardens.com/2013/07/my-summer-garden/ My father-in-law has big melons in his beds - mine are the smaller variety. Good luck to you!Melanie
