The Magical Floating Book Shelf

20 Minutes

Create the illusion of books floating on the wall with the floating book shelf. All you need is a hardback book, an L bracket, a utility knife, some glue and some screws. The book sits flush against the wall and the bracket is screwed into a wall stud so it is extremely sturdy and able to carry a whole stack of books. Check out the inspiration and how to video on my blog.

I clamped the pages of the book down and screwed in the L brace through the pages. I then glued the cover shut.

Put a command strip on the inside cover to keep the book closed on the bracket.

I plan on making this shelf - but using two brackets ( to each end ) and hollowing out the middle of the support 'book' to make a secret compartment

Are the rest of the books just sitting on the base book freely
