Note-The counter tops and cabinets are in good shape so don't want to go to the expense of replacing them.

The cabinet part should be easy. There are filler pieces in most colors and finishes that can screw into the side of your existing cabinets. Do you know where you got the cabinets? The countertop may be trickier. What are your counters made with? Or you could exchange the stove for one that fits (but you probably thought of that).

Thanks Steve. The cabinets are orginal and were here when we bought the house. A stove just a few inches larger was triple the price! So we bought the smaller one with the hopes of being creative about filling in the gaps. But we haven't yet figured out what to do :)

You should be able to find filler pieces that match your cabinet finish. Again, not sure about the countertops. What are they made of?

Can you move the stove to one side and leave a 4 inch gap on one side. Then you could have a spice cabinet made. One that pulls out on slides or rollers and lots of little shelves for all of your spices. Then try to find a top that best matches or looks good with what you have At least you would have a functional space rather than a waste of space. Just a thought.
  • They do make gap fillers shaped like a T that drops between the sides of the stove and counters, However in your case the gap sounds as though that would be to wide to work. The idea Pam has sounds like a good work around. Other then that or new counters there is not much more you can do.

If it is a flat top slide in stove you can call the stove manufacturer- they generally have the matching filler pieces.

You could also make it a cookie sheet/ flat pans holder as it isn't good for you spices to be stored around heat.
