Concrete countertop epoxy disaster

We installed concrete countertops and poured an epoxy finish on them. The epoxy looks terrible. The color I chose turned out just awful. How can I remove the epoxy? Can I cover it with a dark epoxy? Maybe put a primer paint on the epoxy and just paint and seal the countertops? I am so sorry I didnt just get some laminate put in...

You could sand down the surface to bare concrete and start again. If you find the epoxy surface itself satisfactory, just not the color, you likely can just put another coat of a different color epoxy if you prepped the current surface. I would not put a paint coat on it as it would likely peel. And last but not least, look at your laminates that can be applied with little effort. I personally would first try an area with a second coat of an epoxy you like but after a light sanding and prep to the surface..

According to my husband, sandblasting it off however it will leave a pitted surface requiring putting on another thin layer (skim) of concrete.

I've done a lot of epoxy countertops. Did the concrete cure completely before applying epoxy? Yes you can sand and resist as long as the surface is only a color problem. Use an 60-80 grit paper to scuff. Mix your epoxy with color s and pour again. This is not as difficult as it may seem. Keep your head up, don't give up

They make an epoxy remover I had to use once on an old tub someone had painted but it puts off alot of fumes not sure u want it inside your home make sure u get the right gloves if u go this route as it melts right through dishwashing gloves.
