Love pallet projects but find yanking the boards apart too much effort? Me too!

So I came up with an easy way to create a garden walkway using full pallets as-is.

The most challenging part was attempting to get them level. I tried digging ruts at first but found it better to just flatten the soil bed before placing them down.

The best part about this project is the elevation so the walkway clears mud and rainwater. Very cool!

Ready to whip up your own?! Here's what I did:

Before

This is a little area in my garden where I like to walk frequently.

I tried stepping stones which did work, however I wanted something with a little more presence and helped to keep my feet cleaner. Because I do love to go barefoot now and then...

First up was to level the soil really well. This was the most challenging part, but it's worth the effort.

Level by eye first, then position a pallet into place with a construction level on top. Adjust as needed.

The pallets were then tucked into place.

Then two pallets were positioned into place where desired! Isn't it the cutest?!

But let's pretty it up a little...

Rather than bring the edge of the pallet to the lawn, I planted some alyssum pouring out of an old kettle instead.

It's very cute and rather unexpected, making the walkway become part of the flowerbed moreso!

The little 2-pallet walkway is perfect! It leads from my sitting area to the front yard, so now I can enjoy my coffee while taking a wander around without worrying about getting soil on my feet!

Super easy to make too!

Makes for a cozy little sitting area!

But I've made many other unique wood walkways since this one!
