Thrifted Vases Turn Milk Vase Centerpiece

So, I have told you that I am a "frame junkie", and when I hit up the thrift stores, I am always looking for frames that I can use. Well, I have a secret. I am also a bud vase/milk vase junkie. Along with frames, I am always on the look out for fun little vases when I go thrifting , and let me tell you...I had developed quite the little collection here recently!
I have a "decor closet" that I keep random decor that I hope to use again one day, along with thrifted finds, etc... and while I was cleaning it out the other day, I realized I had accumulated lots of little milk vases. I didn't know what to do with them, so I sat them on my dining room table until I could figure out somewhere to use them. I just sat them randomly on my wooden tray {to get them out of the way}, along with my $1 bottle, and this is what it looked like...
After sitting like this for a few days, I kind of started to like this display of randomness. I thought it was cool the way each vase was different but had a certain cohesiveness that I liked. The problem? Well, the glass bottle stuck out like a sore thumb, and although all of the other vases were white, they were varying colors of white and very dirty.

**As you can see in this picture, these vases hardly cost me anything at all. Many of them were $.50, and a couple were $1.00...and that was FULL price. Many times, they are half off, so I didn't have more than $5 tied up in all of them combined. The glass bottle was $1 at the Dollar Tree.**

So, I did what any budget conscious DIY'er would do...I spray painted them all to match. I mean, after all, this has been my go-to for several projects here lately, and it hasn't let me down yet!

I have an old table that has been through the ringer that I use for all of my small paint projects, so I took it to my backyard, wiped down my vases to get the dirt and grime off, got my paint...and got to sprayin'!
{Yes, the bottle has some rocks at the bottom. I had used this for a birthday party a while back, and I couldn't get the rocks out!}

After they had dried after just a couple of coats...I brought them back inside to my tray. I liked the random display that I had going on previously, so I pretty much laid them out the same way. I liked my tall bottle in the back for height, and the rest, I just staggered along. There is no rhyme or reason. I just did what I liked.

P.S. That is always the way I am with decorating. I do what I like. I never have a "method".
So, for no more than $5 total- plus some spray paint that I had on hand, I have a super simple and fun little summer centerpiece for my dining room!

If there is one thing that I hope you take away from this post {and really, all of my posts}, it is that you don't have to have a big budget to make a pretty home. Have a little imagination, be patient to find the right items, and always have some paint on hand

If you enjoyed this project, I have MANY more on my blog that are just as simple and fun!

    These look lovely. Did you use a special paint for glass and did you need to use a primer on the bottle before you spray painted?
