If you have a Silhouette or other cutting machine (and even if you don't!) come and see these paper star lanterns that you can make for next to nothing. All you need is a blade (either a cutting machine or an X-acto knife will do), and some cardstock or other heavy paper. You'll find all the directions and cutting files (both Silhouette and PDF versions) on my blog.
Paper lanterns have a way of making any space a little more magical. Hang several from a tree for an outdoor dinner party, or an intimate dinner for two.
To make them, just cut and fold the shapes using the templates and instructions I've provided on my blog, gluing each point into a "cone."
Next, attach the 5 pieces together by gluing the flaps of one point to the inside of the next. Leave a gap between the 1st and last points of the star.
Lastly, add a string for hanging your lantern. For a really special effect, use monofilament thread, which is virtually invisible, and your star will appear to float in the air.
Adding floral cutouts to the basic design and lining the sides with tracing paper makes a stunning lantern perfect for a summer wedding!
This one has window cutouts for an understated elegant look. See my blog for even more designs.

I’m like the other ladies, the link to your blog says it’s expired and doesn’t work. Could you update the post adding the links to the cut out files?

What do you use for the light?
